I enjoyed reading the vision of Provo. I think most everything is pretty spot on, if it can be delivered.
An idea I have needs some polishing, but to attract more businesses and start-ups, Provo could be one of the few places in the country with a start-up 'incubator', similar to one in Durham, NC. Businesses receive support and training, and its a great places for ideas and VCs to come together. It could really compliment Provo as a place for ideas - and a link to Silicon valley.
On that same line - utilizing Provo's iProvo bandwidth - the center could be a direct link to one of Provo's sister-cities (possibly in China) where ideas could be shared directly. This would also be great education and learning for school-age kids of all ages to explore culture. This way, ideas and VCs are just limited to the resources in Provo.
Never heard of this happening anywhere, I think it's pretty innovative - but I think 'innovative' is a word that should describe Provo.
